Supply to us
Find out how to work with us as a supplier.
We spend a considerable sum a year on contracts across a broad range of suppliers, providing organisations of all sizes with opportunities for business.
As well as maintaining our existing contracts with existing suppliers we are always developing new tender opportunities to procure new suppliers to cover our services.
Current opportunities will be listed here.
When we work with suppliers we will:
- Provide a safe environment and a safe supply chain
- Provide clear, fair procurement methods and develop long-term relationships
- Consult with, listen to and act on suppliers’ suggestions for continuous improvement
- Make payment in accordance with agreed terms
- Recognise excellent supplier performance through repeat contract renewals
- Work in accordance with Accord’s values
For all tenders there are certain requirements which we expect suppliers to sign up to. Potential suppliers will be asked to provide details of how they will meet our requirements in relation to:
- Social Value
- Modern Slavery
- Health and Safety
- Environment and Sustainability
- Equality and Diversity
Accord aims to improve the life chances for its customers and for the wider communities it serves. Through investment into homes comes a significant opportunity to create social value: more jobs, stronger local economies, healthier residents and vibrant communities.
All tenders include a social value section where we ask potential suppliers to provide details of how through the delivery of the contract they will support our social value outcomes. The scale of social value we require will always be proportionate to size of the contract.
Given the current challenging economic climate, our focus is particularly around creating skills, training and employment opportunities for those living in the communities where we work. We are also committed to supporting local economies in the areas where we operate through focusing on local employment, buying locally and building local partnerships, helping to maximise local multiplier effects.
No matter how big or small your organisation is the Modern Slavery Act, passed in 2015, applies. The Act sets out a range of measures on how modern slavery and human trafficking is dealt with in the UK. The only distinction is the need to publish a statement if your organisation has a global turnover of over £36 million.
The Act, through the publishing of a Modern Slavery Statement, requires organisations to take a methodical and considered approach to opening up their supply chain and combating modern slavery practices if they are found.
We have a responsibility to understand where all our goods and services are coming from throughout our supply chain in order to identify any risks of exploitation and modern slavery practices.
As part of all tender submissions you will be required to answer a series of questions about modern slavery, and to either submit your own Modern Slavery Statement, or if you are not required to have one, to sign up to ours.
Health and safety
Across all contracts we have a responsibility to assess the health, safety and environmental systems of suppliers and to monitor their compliance.
Accord expects its suppliers to provide details of their approach to health, safety and welfare and to provide clear evidence regarding their policy, organisation and arrangements for meeting all of the current requirements of relevant legislation and best practice for the goods and services being offered.
We have a responsibility for ensuring that suppliers of all goods and services provide adequate time and resources to the management of health, safety and welfare throughout the feasibility, planning manufacture, implementation, maintenance, monitoring and review etc. of goods and services in order to identify any risks arising out of and in connection with bad health, safety and welfare practices.
As part of all tender submissions you will be required to answer a series of questions and to submit appropriate health, safety and welfare evidence to support your submission and provide assurances that you manage all of the associated risks to your staff and the Accord staff, service users, visitors and its property and premises.
Tenderers will be asked to confirm that they have read and will comply with Accord’s Health and Safety Policy.
Environment and sustainability
Accord is committed to saving energy, reducing waste, preventing pollution and cutting the amount of carbon and other emissions generated by our operations, our staff and tenants, the homes that we let and our offices.
As part of your tender submission you will be asked whether your organisation operates an Environmental Management System (EMS) certified to ISO 14001 and if it does you will be required to provide a copy of your certificate.
Equality and Diversity
Accord aims to make fairness something we live by, recruit by and measure by. It is part of our moral compass. We are committed to developing an organisational culture which values people as individuals, recognising the contribution each person can make. We will treat all people fairly and with respect, recognising and responding to their individuality.
As part of your tender submission you will be asked to submit your own Equality and Diversity Policy, or to confirm that you will comply with Accord’s Fairness Strategy.
